Overview
Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari and Pong video games, began Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre in 1977, with the first location in San Jose, California. The idea was to create a place where families and young people in particular, could go to have fun and play video games.
Chuck E. Cheese is a chain of casual restaurants that offers pizza, salads, sandwiches and dessert in a family atmosphere. There are numerous arcade games, climbing equipment and other activities for children and an animatronic show. The chain is extremely popular for hosting birthday parties for children.
There are more than 500 entertainment centers in 48 states and 6 countries.
