Overview
Waffle House is a restaurant chain with more than 1600 locations in 25 states in the United States. The first restaurant was opened in 1955 on Labor Day in Avondale Estates, Georgia. It was conceived by Joe Rogers, Sr. and Tom Forkner. Joe Rogers Sr. came with experience in the food industry while Tom Forkner provided the real estate expertise. The concept was to combine the speed of fast food with quality table service and around the clock availability. Most restaurants are situated in the South where the Waffle House remains a cultural icon.
