Overview
Wienerschnitzel is one of America’s fast food chains and it was established in 1961 as Der Wienerschnitzel. The first restaurant was opened by John Galardi in the community of Wilmington in Los Angeles, California. Restaurants are located almost exclusively in California and Texas, but there are also Wienerschnitzel restaurants in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Washington. Although grammatically incorrect, the name suggests the original schnitzel made in Vienna, Austria, despite the fact that the company does not actually serve schnitzel. Wienerschnitzel has more than 350 stores including one in Guam. They specialize in hot dogs but they are currently extending to other items. It is owned by the Galardi Group.
