Overview

Royal Caribbean Cruises operates the Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises. Although they are distinct brands, many of the customer service functions of these two companies are integrated. Basically, that means that whether you cruised on a Royal Caribbean ship or a Celebrity ship, the buck stops at the same place: in the corporate office of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. in Miami. It is difficult to generalize about the kind of customer service you should expect. Much of it is good. Some of it is very bad.

    Mr. Goldstein,
As a retired Sales/Marketing Manager it is my hobby to provide valuable feedback to companies I deal with. Reputable businesses appreciate it.
I always required my sales force to seek and report customer feedback.
Our first cruise on RCCL was 3/18/11 on Jewel of the Seas.
This is a beautifully appointed ship. Your boarding and disembarking procedures are the best we have seen. The crew generally friendly and efficient, especially in the dining room, where the food was excellent.
The entertainment, activities, and Labadee were all top notch.
There were however, a few areas that made this trip less than perfect !
Your staff STOLE my 1 bottle of Bailey’s. I say STOLE because they did not return it after the cruise !! This has NEVER happened before on several previous trips with Princess or Holland America. I always enjoy a small Bailey’s just before retiring and cursed you every night .
Several excuses were given, none made sense. They were either liers or
just stupid, but they were definately THIEVES !
A crew member said they had a party with all the STOLEN liquor. Not funny if it was a joke…OUTRAGEOUS if it was true. A crew captain for Transat returning from a Princess cruise said all 9 family members had bottles in their luggage and NONE of them were STOLEN by Princess !!
Suggestions from a former Marketing Manager….
DO NOT serve crappy OJ at breakfast and have the gaul to offer GOOD
OJ for an EXTRA $3.95 per glass !!! Everyone at our table was insulted…
DO NOT show filet mignon on the regular menue and demand an EXTRA
$14.95, in very small print so some people order it by MISTAKE !!
I truly hope you appreciate this feedback, because RCCL negative actions spoiled what otherwise would have been a perfect experience forour party of twelve ( which I organized )
I would appreciate the courtesy of a reply,, from Mr. Goldstein, because
I have found in many cases the man at the top doesn’t know what is
happening on ” the street ”
    Best regards
    Joseph Charles Leone

PLEASE PASS THE ABOVE LETTER TO MR. GOLDSTEIN.

    Dear Adam:
Let me say first of all I’ve always loved your ships and cruises. Been doing it for 10 years now and am a Diamond member.
I’m also an ordained Chaplain so I’m usually the one hearing the problems..not telling them!
Last Friday Dec. 9th I went on a cruise out of Port Canaveral on a 3 day on the Monarch(Booking # 988120) with a friend and her 5 year old grandson. We had 2 adjoining cabins on Deck 4.
However, I must say this was the worst cruise I’ve ever been on. It seems RC is cutting corners any way it can and sadly the cruise experience is suffering. Normally we take the Freedom but for short hops we take the Monarch as we live close to the Port in Melbourne Fl.
To start we had a problem getting the room ready…took 5 hours(till 7 pm) to get the beds together and open the door between the rooms which was a pretty big deal when you have a 5 year old wanting to go from room to room alone. We had to ask repeatedly for the robes we were supposed to have, never got the Diamond gift till later in the cruise(attendent didn’t even know we were Diamond members),had a problem with the key not working (turned out it was the magnet on the crown and anchor pin) and it took all day Saturday for the computers to work right and reprogram the key, had a problem with our dining table(very large) & needed one for 3 so we had to switch to my time dining, and several other issues I’m not even going into here.
Even little things like chocolates on the bed are being cut out…small but meaningful to your cruise.

(I’m not even going to go into the situation with the help onboard because I work with Seafarers Ministry in Port Canaveral and I hear about everything from rapes to shaking down subordinates of their tips and threatening them with deportation if they tell anyone. To me as a prison minister for 25 years this is totally unacceptable and I believe leaves RC open to much potential liability by allowing these practices without firing or prosecuting those involved. I personally encourage those affected to seek legal counsel).

Anyway, I don’t know if we are going on Royal Caribbean again, Disney seems to have a better experience for the money and kids love it. I guess the only thing that would change my mind is to see a real change in the experience onboard and a whole new attitude about employee abuse.

Hi, I need to complain directly to Gabriela González Saúl, General Director of the offices of Royal Caribbean at Mexico’s office. Do you have her e-mail?

  • Ralph T

They dont respond to phone calls or emails. Tried to get information on the Royal Romance wedding. Waste of time trying to contact them. Probably better to send an email to the President of RCL. agoldstein@rccl.com

  • SDB

you as well.  I just did the same.  I have been trying to contact royal romance of over three months now.  They completely ruined my wedding and never responded to any of my calls.  If I were you, I’d go to another company, and this is coming from an former employee

Reading the letters below you gentlemen in Miami need to sit
down and look at what is happening. What is more detrimental to Royal Caribbean
raising the rates or continuing with deteriorating service? The consensus is
oil is staying above $800 a barrel. Looking at the gentleman who said he is
going with Disney he would choose higher rate. I agree I am also a Diamond member
and I chose Royal because of the
    service.
