Overview

Expedia is not just one online agency. Its parent company, Expedia Inc., owns several other brands, including Hotels.com, Hotwire.com and TripAdvisor. It is difficult to generalize about the service that customers do (or do not) receive from Expedia. The best that can be said is that customers usually have a positive experience when booking with it. But every now and then, something goes terribly wrong. And when it does, Expedia usually does the right thing.

My wife and I purchase travel packages a couple of times per year. We tend to use Expedia about 50% of the time. Booked a high-end cruise for 6 thru them last year. No problems, but the above info is very very helpful and food for thought for future bookings. Thanks loads!

On Sept.7, 2010 my daughter and I bought 12 tickets round trip (SJU-MCO) and 2 tickets one way (MCO -SJU) by internet. At the end of the transaccion we cannot continue because you don’t have our country Puerto Rico in the list when asked the phone number. At this time the payment were approved. Then we call your offices to ask for help to finished and they said that we have to do it by phone. The assistant took the information and when finished told us the prices were risen. Why? The problem came from you because Puerto Rico was missing and you have to do it. Also, in any part of the web page, you do not advice that Puerto Rico has to call. This information was given by one of your assistants. Here we lost $700.00.
We asked for a list of all the Itinerary Numbers and inmediately was received, all confirmed. Then on Tuesday 9, we received an e-mail from you that the airline cancelled 2 of them because the payment were missing. Again we have to call and the reason was that apparently the system was in jam and the card was not accepted. We have to call the airline and Airtran told us that they not received the payment and for that reason was the cancellation. Why you do not call us inmediately that you have problems with the card? The problem was in your office not from us, why the cancellation? Thanks to God we found the same reservations cancelled direct from Airtran Airways and with the same card. If we cannot get the same tickets, we have to cancelled all. It is a family trip. Thanks to God, again, we will celebrate.

This is a big lesson for us. BUY DIRECT FROM THE AIRLINES. There are not differences in price. There are not problems.

    Thank you.

On December 16, 2010, Employee; Kenny # A65 told me that my ticket from last year could not be used because I was required to reschedule no later than December 8, 2010.

After fighting a disease I don’t feel it is fair to tell me my $372.20 ticket is expired when I have been under the care of a Medical Doctor. I just got DR. RELEASE to travel due to health issues.

If someone in Management can contact my email address I would greately appreciate your time, as I do have a “DISIBILITY” and I am a protected class in the United States of America.

I will NEVER do business with Expedia again because of their so-called travel coupons. For several months now, they have sent me travel coupons–good for $100 off any 4-night stay at a hotel. These coupons have expiration dates, but even when they expire, a new one is always e-mailed. On Friday, I booked a week in Mexico, and I asked them to apply my $100 coupon. What do you know? This coupon had just mysteriously disappeared! They could not even give me a reasonable explanation for where it had gone! I wrote a complaint letter which they answered. Told me to call and reference a case number. When I did this, the Expedia representative told me that there was a $100 coupon in my account for my NEXT trip. NEWSFLASH: There will not be any more trips through Expedia. I will contact the airlines directly. I actually feel quite liberated about the whole thing now. I love to boycott any company that cannot be honest and straight with me, and I encourage all of you to do the same!
